A few things you should consider are: deciding if residential pesticides are safe for home use, understanding the precautions before using outdoor mosquito systems, knowing all different options for getting rid of mosquitoes, understanding that US EPA and their role with regulating misting machines.
Outdoor misting systems are systems that are designed to spray pesticides that kill mosquitoes. Most misting systems include a spray nozzle that is attached to a fence in which the nozzle is aimed at a specific area. The spray nozzles are all attached by a tubing that supplies the sides. Most misting systems, or mosquito systems, are set on timers. There are some owners that activate the systems with use of a switch as well.
Residential misting systems are very effective when it comes to controlling mosquitoes, as well as other insects. There are a few basic precautions you can take before using a misting system though. A few things to look for are: standing bodies of water around your home, empty jars or cans, old tires or cinderblocks, or any other habitat that mosquitoes can live in. If your home is clear of all these items and you still have mosquitoes, then a misting system would probably be a good effective tool to use.

The EPA does not regulate outdoor misting system equipment for residential use. They are considered under the category of application equipment, and therefore are not considered a danger by the EPA. The misting systems are also not considered a pesticide device, since it is for residential use and not commercial.
Make sure your mosquito misting system is set up to spray only in certain areas. You will want to target areas away from cooking or eating areas, as well as swimming pools or fishing ponds. Even if mosquitoes breed in the fishing ponds, there are some pesticides that can kill the fish in the pond. Make sure the operating system and reservoir are securely locked and not accessible to children. Only use the pesticides when necessary and do not use them if your problem has been taking care of. Make sure you know the maximum daily amount of the pesticide that should be used before using. Made sure you regularly maintain and inspect your mosquito misting system, ensuring there are no leaks.
